Emperor Sherry Finish Mauritian Rum 700ml

This blend is crafted from aged rums produced using freshly pressed sugarcane juice and molasses. In this Sherry Finish expression, expect delicate notes of vanilla, caramelised fruit and sherry.

Located off the coast of Mauritius, the island is a relatively recent entrant to the global rum scene. Sugarcane was introduced from Java during the Dutch period (1598 to 1710), primarily for the production of alcoholic beverages.

During the 18th century, Governor Bertrand-François Mahé de Labourdonnais encouraged the development of the local rum industry. From 1810 onwards, when the island became a British colony, Mauritius gradually evolved into a plantation-based economy, with sugarcane becoming its principal crop.
