Indri Agneya Limited Edition Single Malt Indian Whisky 700ml

Agneya, derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “belonging to fire”, is a lightly peated single malt whisky from Indri Whisky, matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks, where depth and complexity develop to reflect the very essence of fire and wood.

It is regarded as one of India’s most refined and elegant whiskies, balancing complexity with notes of nuttiness and ripe fruit, followed by a gentle smokiness on the palate. Located within the catchment area of the Yamuna River, the village of Indri lies in the Himalayan foothills and is home to the distillery.

This lush, green landscape forms part of India’s agricultural heartland. The maturation warehouses are set amidst fields where the majestic Indian peacock wanders freely, symbolising nature’s grace and beauty.

Tasting notes:

Nose, delicate hints of chocolate intertwined with subtle vanilla sweetness, a touch of spice, dried apple and apricot, followed by notes of fruit jam, peat dust and earthy undertones.

Palate, tropical fruit flavours of mango and ripe banana, with rich toffee and gentle spice leading into a warm embrace of dried peat smoke. Melon adds a refreshing lift, while a sweet, fruity character lingers with soft, rounded smokiness.

Finish, a harmonious blend of sweet and salty nuances, culminating in a smooth, smoky finish. Layers of fruit sweetness and gentle spice create a long lasting impression.
