Writer's Tears Cask Strength Limited Edition is an award winning reinterpretation of a celebrated nineteenth century style of Irish whiskey, inspired by the historic connection between literature and whiskey culture. This unique expression combines single pot still and single malt whiskies to recreate what was once known as the “Champagne of Irish whiskey”.
The cask strength limited edition is released annually in extremely small quantities, making it one of Ireland’s most exclusive whiskies. Bottled at 53% ABV, this expression is a vatting of triple distilled single pot still and single malt whiskies, matured carefully in American oak casks. Each year, Bernard Walsh personally selects a small number of exceptional casks for inclusion, establishing this as a benchmark super premium cask strength Irish whiskey.
Only 2,580 bottles were produced worldwide for the 2019 release, with each bottle individually numbered as part of this rare limited edition. The expression was created by Walsh Whiskey.
Under the Liquor Licensing Act 1990 it is an offence: For liquor to be delivered to a person under the age of 18 years. Penalty: fine not exceeding 20 penalty units. For a person under the age of 18 years to purchase liquor. Penalty: fine not exceeding 10 penalty units
