José Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Tequila was first released in 1995 to celebrate the company’s two hundredth anniversary and helped pioneer the category of extended aged tequila. It is matured for a minimum of two years in a combination of American and French oak barrels, with some reserve components aged for up to thirty years.

The tequila has often been described as rich and brandy-like, and its character remains largely consistent from year to year. Alongside its consistency, it has also earned widespread critical acclaim.
