Building on the acclaimed Kamiki and Kamiki Intense expressions – the first whiskies matured in Japanese cedar – this exciting new release takes the brand a step further, with a finish in Sakura wood, more commonly known as Japanese cherry blossom.
Unlike Scotch whisky, which is governed by strict rules regarding the types of wood that may be used for maturation, the length of ageing and other regulations, the World Whisky category remains relatively unrestricted. This freedom has allowed a number of brands, Kamiki being the most prominent, to explore experimentation and innovation, producing some extraordinary and captivating expressions in the process.
Kamiki entered the World Whisky category in 2018 with the Original and Intense expressions, which were met with critical acclaim on the global stage.
We were naturally delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with Kamiki once again and introduce this remarkable new whisky to customers around the world.
It has already garnered awards, including a Gold at the China Wine & Spirits Awards 2019, a Double Gold at the Women’s Wine & Spirits Awards 2019, and a SIP Platinum Award 2019, with many more accolades likely to follow.
