We are proud to present the Launceston Distillery Peated Special Edition, Bourbon and Tawny Cask Matured, a pleasantly peated dram drawn from Hangar 17, the home of Launceston Distillery.
This exclusive bottling for The Single Malt Whisky Club is crafted from peated malt matured in bourbon and tawny casks, at an approximate ratio of 80 to 20, and bottled at 46% ABV. The result is a delightfully complex whisky with a finely balanced interplay of smoke and sweetness.
Produced using unpeated Tasmanian barley alongside peated Scottish barley, this expression avoids the tarry, asphalt or medicinal iodine notes often associated with peat. Instead, it offers a gentle, sweet smokiness layered over a fruity and softly sweet foundation.
Matured in ex Bourbon and Tawny Port casks and distilled from a combination of Tasmanian barley and richly peated Scottish malt, this smoky release was limited to an outturn of approximately 650 bottles.
Under the Liquor Licensing Act 1990 it is an offence: For liquor to be delivered to a person under the age of 18 years. Penalty: fine not exceeding 20 penalty units. For a person under the age of 18 years to purchase liquor. Penalty: fine not exceeding 10 penalty units
