Amrut Distilleries has conceived and launched a new umbrella brand, ‘Single Malts of India’, created to highlight some of India’s hidden gem malts. The opening chapter in this series, titled Neidhal, is a limited release of 12,000 bottles worldwide.
Neidhal is a single malt sourced from a coastal region of the same name and displays characteristics that arise distinctly from its maritime surroundings. On the nose, it offers notes of tropical fruits and vanilla, gently accented by soft phenols and, above all, a hint of sea salt.
On the palate, it reveals fruit cocktail flavours intertwined with captivating phenols and a touch of iodine. The mid palate delivers a pleasing chewiness, leading to a phenolic finish balanced by a delicate sweetness of vanilla.
Under the Liquor Licensing Act 1990 it is an offence: For liquor to be delivered to a person under the age of 18 years. Penalty: fine not exceeding 20 penalty units. For a person under the age of 18 years to purchase liquor. Penalty: fine not exceeding 10 penalty units
