Diageo India presents the second edition of United’s Epitome Reserve whisky, a limited edition peated single malt with just 3,600 numbered bottles, each signed by master blender Mahesh Patil.
Epitome Reserve Peated Single Malt whisky reflects the grandeur of the Himalayan foothills and the northern plains, as well as the beauty of the Mandovi River. It is crafted through seven distinctive steps.
Only select Indian six row barley, transported from the Himalayan foothills over 2,000 kilometres to Goa, is used in the making of Epitome Reserve Peated Single Malt whisky. The sweet waters of the Mandovi River are used to hydrate the cracked grains, while heat derived from Islay peat imparts a full bodied, earthy character with a subtle maritime influence.
The interplay of sea and spice continues as the spirit moves from copper pot stills to maturation in American oak casks, resting against the briny Goan sea breeze. The whisky is then finished exclusively in cabernet sauvignon casks, adding a vibrant and lively flavour profile reminiscent of mint, plum, mulberry and cherry. This whisky can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or with a splash of water.
Under the Liquor Licensing Act 1990 it is an offence: For liquor to be delivered to a person under the age of 18 years. Penalty: fine not exceeding 20 penalty units. For a person under the age of 18 years to purchase liquor. Penalty: fine not exceeding 10 penalty units
