Nashville, Tennessee, is often regarded as the capital of country music and is nicknamed “Music City.” However, located eighty miles south in the town of Lynchburg is the home of another Tennessee icon, Jack Daniel’s.
The brand has long been connected to live music, and a recent limited edition No.7 label celebrates this link in honour of the whiskey’s 155th anniversary.
Designed by a Pentagram team led by Paula Scher, the limited edition label makes excellent use of typography to highlight Jack Daniel’s association with music, while incorporating graphics of guitars, trumpets and other musical elements such as CDs and notes. Scher’s distinctive style is evident but remains faithful to the classic black-and-white No.7 label. Key details, including the signature copy “Every Drop Made In Lynchburg, Tennessee,” references to No.7’s awards, and the iconic bottle shape, are all retained. Very limited stock is available, and each bottle comes with a presentation box.
Under the Liquor Licensing Act 1990 it is an offence: For liquor to be delivered to a person under the age of 18 years. Penalty: fine not exceeding 20 penalty units. For a person under the age of 18 years to purchase liquor. Penalty: fine not exceeding 10 penalty units
