This Kujira Ryukyu Whisky is distilled from 100 per cent selected rice and matured for more than 24 years in first fill bourbon barrels by Kumesen Shuzo in Okinawa. Okinawa forms part of the Ryukyu Islands, a chain of subtropical islands located at the southernmost tip of Japan. Kujira Ryukyu Whisky presents a truly distinctive tropical style of Japanese whisky. Owing to the island’s warm climate, the whisky matures more quickly, developing a stronger aroma and a bolder flavour.
This small batch release, matured for over 24 years in bourbon barrels and made entirely from rice, offers a remarkable flavour profile that sets it apart from its malt counterparts, providing a refreshing choice for spirits enthusiasts. A limited edition release, with only 200 bottles available in Australia and 6,000 bottles released worldwide.
