Distilled from 100 per cent premium Indica rice, Kujira Ryukyu Whisky is matured for more than 30 years in carefully selected sherry, bourbon and virgin white oak casks in Okinawa, a beautiful tropical island in southern Japan with a warm and humid climate throughout the year.
This distinctive expression offers a full body and a smooth experience, with notes of ripe berries coming to the fore, while well-matured woody tannins contribute a gently puckering, herbal character reminiscent of traditional Chinese herbs. A hint of nectar and oak lingers long after the finish. Decades of maturation impart deep woody aromas of toasted oak casks, leaving a pleasantly robust flavour and a long-lasting sweetness.
