This year’s Lunar New Year limited release, “The Knotted Tree and Golden Lark,” from Lark Distilling Co. celebrates both the cultural richness of the Lunar New Year and the pristine natural beauty of Tasmania. Matured in carefully selected small first fill sherry and port casks, this exceptional Tasmanian whisky weaves a deep and elegant tapestry of flavour in honour of the season.
Enticing aromas of nutmeg and pomegranate are accompanied by subtle hints of smoke and praline. On the palate, a silky texture reveals layers of chocolate, ripe stone fruit and warm sherry depth, finishing with notes of dates and toasted pecan. As the southern winds carry the spirit of celebration, a red oriental thread settles upon Tasmania’s fertile soil, transforming into a majestic tree crowned by a golden lark, symbolising happiness, prosperity, love and good fortune for the New Year.
The exquisite design by Chinese artist Menghui Huang brings this enchanting story to life. At the heart of the artwork stands the Knotted Tree, rising from the Tasmanian landscape and adorned with oranges, peonies and cherry blossoms. Above, a golden lark carries a glowing lantern, illuminating the scene with the joy and wonder of the Lunar New Year.
