This intensely refined spirit is a carefully blended distillate aged for a minimum of 18 years in precious oak barriques, followed by a finishing period in barrels previously used to produce the prestigious Italian red wine, Amarone della Valpolicella.

Produced by Vecchia Romagna (brand), this expression showcases the signature Vecchia Romagna method. The aromatic profile is shaped by maturation in French oak barriques and large Slavonian oak casks, before final refinement in Amarone wine casks, creating remarkable structure, roundness and intensity.

The spirit displays a brilliant, warm amber colour with mahogany and golden reflections. The nose reveals spicy notes and tobacco leaf, blended with delicate hints of dried fruit, walnut and fig, along with subtle traces reminiscent of sherry, port and marsala. On the palate, it is smooth, powerful and persistent, with candied yellow fruit, fruit preserved in spirit and warming spices such as cinnamon, pimento and clove. Additional complexity comes from walnut leaf, dried tobacco leaf, coffee and fortified wine influences. The finishing period in Amarone casks adds a gentle tannic, vinous character that enhances balance and structure.
